'Kardashian Konfidential'

I recently bought ‘Kardashian Konfidential’ and I would have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. There a lot of people who are writing negative reviews on the book, but i’m sure these women are used to the scrutiny by now. Mostly people complain that they are famous by just being famous...like that even makes sense, but who cares why they’re famous, they are and that’s that.

I am more of a girly girl myself so reading a book solely on fashion and makeup and all that was quite appealing to me. They had a lot of excellent advice on fashion, hair, makeup, exercise, how to shop and all that fun stuff. The book also briefly touched on some delicate areas, like their father’s death, the O.J Simpson trial, Khloe’s troubled days, Kim’s quickie marriage at age 19 and some other juicy tid-bits that you’ll have to read to find out for yourself.

While the book wasn’t exactly a book that would win an authors award, it is a page turner. I love seeing young women try different things, they already have several reality shows, perfume, clothing stores, clothing line, jewellery line, representatives for many corporations, and i'm sure i'm missing more, so why wouldn’t they add authors to their long list of accomplishments? If you’re a feminine woman and a fan of the lovely Kardashian sisters then I would highly suggest picking up a copy and grabbing a delicious Starbucks and sit in front of a cozy fireplace on a quiet Sunday and enjoy some personal girly time with the Kardashian girls!

Two Awesome Little Purchases!

I have to share these two new purchases with you, they are simply gorgeous! As I previously mentioned I am really into the military trend at the moment so I just had to purchase this necklace and bracelet. What I love about this set and all other jewellery like this is that it incorporates many colors which really helps when choosing what to wear with them.

This necklace has gold and pewter chains with gold, army green and black ribbon and charms in gold, black crystal, green crystal, clear crystal and antique gold. With an item like this I have many options on what other jewellery to wear, what accessories to incorporate, and clothing colors, and best part is this item is a total statement piece.

The bracelet also gives many options with it's army green ribbon, black Czech crystals, gold and antique gold charms, fireball crystals and clear crystals.

These two items didn't come as a set, they weren't even in the same section of the store but I thought they would go beautiful together, sometimes it takes a little searching to find items to pair up but its totally worth it.

Both items I purchased at Aldo, the necklace was on sale for $29.98 CAD and bracelet on sale for $15.98 CAD.

Blake Lively...Fashion Icon.

Blake Lively has got to be one of the most beautiful actresses, I would definitely put her in the top 10. She is most known for her role in Gossip Girl as Serena and it looks like working with stylists on a regular basis and being put in the trendiest clothing as a job has rubbed off. Unlike some of her Gossip Girl co-stars this woman knows how to dress off set!

She looks like the girl next door...only sexier and with that fun care-free vibe. She was recently snapped wearing this amazing Versace dress with gorgeous brown Ambertina Christian Louboutin heels. The dress looks and fits amazing on her frame, I adore the Louboutin’s but i’m not crazy about them paired with this dress, she would have looked stunning in nude pumps but she still pulls it off by incorporating dark chunky bangles.

Major Christian Louboutin lover Blake was recently spotted buying 40 pairs of the shoes at a recent Louboutin sample sale! Her love of Louboutin’s was returned by having a Louboutin named after her! While filming in Paris Blake got a tour of the City from Mr.Louboutin himself which was followed by a tour of his atelier where she fell in love with a current work in progress. After confessing to Louboutin that she wants to sleep with the shoe under her pillow he decided to name the shoe ‘The Blake’ in her honour. Getting private tours with top designers and having fashion iconography named after you is a huge step in becoming a fashion icon. Serena would be so proud of you Blake.

The Military Trend...Here To Stay

The military trend has been rising since 2008 and has no sign of shutting down just yet. Going into 2011, the military trend is alive and well. To be quite honest I wasn’t too crazy about this trend when it debuted in 2008, I wasn’t thrilled about it in 2009 and in 2010 I still didn’t get the craze, but here I am going into 2011 and finding myself loving this trend.

Like most trends I like to keep it subtle and make it into my own rather than look like I just read a top ten trends of the year and went right out to the store to shop. I have recently been looking for military accessories to purchase to add to my clothing for a personalized look. Out of most of the stores that I have looked at it’s been Aldo that has caught my attention.

Aldo as you all know is a very affordable place to shop for accessories and more often than not I am finding them to be very current with today’s trends. If you’re like me and you’re loving the military look but are going for something more subtle then check out my favourite military purchase (below).

Where: Aldo
Name: Elford
Cost: $10.00 CAD

I Absolutely love this little military package from Aldo! First of all it's amazingly affordable, secondly, it's all attached to safety pins so you can add these items to any jacket or blazer for a military look without being committed.
